LWBJ Founding Partner Tom Larson Passes Away Suddenly
WEST DES MOINES, May 16, 2016 – LWBJ has announced that Thomas E. Larson, a Founding Partner of the firm, died of a heart attack on May 15 while vacationing in Colorado. Funeral arrangements are pending.
LWBJ began operations in 1992 with no clients. Tom was instrumental in growing the company to
become one of the Midwest’s leading CPA, business advisory and M&A firms with more than 50 employees.
In making the announcement, Managing Partner Paul Juffer noted, “Tom was a true friend, valued partner and mentor to many – both inside and outside the firm. He truly gave his all to our company and will be deeply missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.”
Tom was a member and past president of the West Des Moines Rotary, board member for the Easter
Seals Iowa Foundation and member of the Iowa Society of Certified Public Accountants. Tom was also a member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir. Tom graduated from the University of Iowa and bled back and gold for Hawkeye sports.
